Woodard Lipe Fine Art & Auction is a St. Louis art gallery and auction house specializing in original fine art, antiques, estate property, and distinctive collections.
Our roots in the St. Louis fine art, resale, and estate market go back to 2012, when we opened The Refind Room in Brentwood, Missouri. Over the years, we have helped thousands of clients buy, sell, consign, appraise, and manage fine art, furniture, antiques, and other significant personal property.
Woodard Lipe was created as a natural extension of that experience, with a greater focus on fine art, auctions, and estate collections. Today, we work with collectors, families, estates, interior designers, attorneys, fiduciaries, and institutions to evaluate property and determine the best path for sale.
Our services include fine art and antique consignment, live and online auctions, estate and collection evaluations, appraisals, private sales, and guidance for clients managing significant personal property.
We believe buying art should feel approachable, interesting, and personal. Our gallery features an ever-changing selection of original paintings, works on paper, sculpture, prints, ceramics, antiques, and other compelling objects—from established artists and important estates to works simply chosen because they deserve to be seen again.
For sellers, our goal is equally straightforward: thoughtful advice, knowledgeable evaluation, professional presentation, and access to the right market. Depending on the property, that may mean placement in one of our curated auctions, gallery consignment, private sale, or another tailored approach.
Woodard Lipe welcomes experienced collectors as well as people purchasing original art for the first time. Our gallery and auction spaces are located in Brentwood, Missouri, where Woodard Lipe and The Refind Room operate together under one roof, creating a unique destination for fine art, collected interiors and estate property.
Shawn Lipe: Co-Founder and Gallery Director
Shawn Lipe is Co-Founder and Gallery Director of Woodard Lipe Fine Art & Auction, where he oversees fine art evaluation, consignments, auctions and advisory services for collectors, estates and institutions. He is a certified CAGA appraiser with experience in insurance loss, fiduciary and trust matters, probate and estate documentation.
A practicing glass artist for more than 30 years, Shawn has participated in group and solo exhibitions and maintained a private studio in Fort Lauderdale. His research experience includes positions at the University of Miami, the Wolfsonian Museum and Krannert Art Museum at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
In 2012, Shawn co-founded The Refind Room with Suzanne Woodard, beginning more than a decade of evaluating, buying, selling and consigning fine art, furniture, antiques and estate property in St. Louis.
Shawn holds a master's degree in environmental chemistry and previously worked in environmental research, chemistry, regulatory affairs and consulting before focusing full-time on fine art, design and the secondary market.
Suzanne Woodard is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Woodard Lipe Fine Art & Auction, overseeing business operations, client services, estate relationships and strategic development.
In 2012, Suzanne founded The Refind Room in St. Louis, building it into an established destination for luxury furniture, original art and distinctive home furnishings. Her experience working with consignors, estates and significant household collections helped lead to the creation of Woodard Lipe Fine Art & Auction.
At Woodard Lipe, Suzanne works with clients to evaluate the broader scope of estates and collections and determine the appropriate path for furniture, art and other personal property. Her knowledge of the modern and contemporary furniture market also informs the evaluation and placement of important design.
Suzanne earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and practiced law for 20 years before turning her focus to the art, design and secondary markets.
Karla Schlueter: Client Relations & Special Collections
Karla Schlueter works with Woodard Lipe clients and special collections, with particular knowledge of fine jewelry, gemstones, designer fashion, handbags, watches and decorative objects.
Her experience with luxury goods began in the jewelry industry, where she developed extensive knowledge of gemstones, fine jewelry, watches, gold and silver. She later founded an interior design business focused on residential and commercial projects, including room planning, color and art installation.
Karla joined The Refind Room in 2018 and today brings her experience in jewelry, fashion, interiors and client service to the evaluation and presentation of special collections at Woodard Lipe.
