Woodard Lipe Fine Art & Auction is a St. Louis art gallery and auction house specializing in original fine art, antiques, estate property, and distinctive collections.
Our roots in the St. Louis resale and estate market go back to 2012, when we opened The Refind Room in Brentwood, Missouri. Over the years, we have helped thousands of clients buy, sell, consign, appraise, and manage fine art, furniture, antiques, and other significant personal property.
Woodard Lipe was created as a natural extension of that experience, with a greater focus on fine art, auctions, and estate collections. Today, we work with collectors, families, estates, interior designers, attorneys, fiduciaries, and institutions to evaluate property and determine the best path for sale.
Our services include fine art and antique consignment, live and online auctions, estate and collection evaluations, appraisals, private sales, and guidance for clients managing significant personal property.
We believe buying art should feel approachable, interesting, and personal. Our gallery features an ever-changing selection of original paintings, works on paper, sculpture, prints, ceramics, antiques, and other compelling objects—from established artists and important estates to works simply chosen because they deserve to be seen again.
For sellers, our goal is equally straightforward: thoughtful advice, knowledgeable evaluation, professional presentation, and access to the right market. Depending on the property, that may mean placement in one of our curated auctions, gallery consignment, private sale, or another tailored approach.
Woodard Lipe welcomes experienced collectors as well as people purchasing original art for the first time. Our gallery and auction spaces are located in Brentwood, Missouri, where Woodard Lipe and The Refind Room now operate together under one roof.
Shawn Lipe: Owner and Gallerist
Shawn is Owner and Gallery Director at Woodard Lipe Fine Art and Auction. In this role, he provides sales and advisory support for art collectors, dealers, and institutions. Shawn is also a certified CAGA appraiser for insurance loss recovery, fiduciary and trust equitable assets distribution, or probate and estate tax documentation.
Originally from Alton, Illinois, Shawn has been a practicing glass blower for over 30 years and has participated in both group and solo exhibitions as well as maintained a private studio in Fort Lauderdale. He’s held research positions at the University of Miami, Wolfsonian Museum, and Krannert Art Museum in Urbana-Champaign.
In 2012, Shawn co-founded The Refind Room with Suzanne Woodard. The Refind Room is a retail store offering luxury furniture and art consignment in the St. Louis suburb of Brentwood, Missouri. In 2021, Lipe launched a second retail store offering antiques, unique collectibles, original art, and mid-century and modern furniture and decor to the collector and aficionado of specialty items.
Shawn earned a Masters Degree in Environmental Chemistry and worked as an Environmental Researcher, Chemist, Regulatory Affairs Officer, and Consultant for an International Pharmaceutical Corporation prior to focusing exclusively on the sale of fine furniture, art, vintage and antique collectibles.
Suzanne has a extensive knowledge and experience of furniture, decor and decorative objects from the 1960's to the present. In 2012, Suzanne opened The Refind Room in St. Louis, Missouri, a luxury furniture consignment store offering fine furniture, home decor and art. Since its founding, The Refind Room has expanded to include interior design services, bespoke home staging services, and complete concierge downsizing and senior move management for individual clients, wealth managers, estate attorneys, banks and estate executors.
She also founded and currently operates House & Home, Concierge Move Managers, a company focused on providing complete support from evaluations and appraisals to moving, packing, and selling of luxury estate personal property.
As founder and co-owner of Woodard Lipe, Suzanne applies her management and operational knowledge and experience to ensure that all clients receive outstanding customer service and maximum value for their personal property. Her extensive knowledge and passion for the modern furniture and home decor market also enables Suzanne to accurately assess valuation and to curate Woodard Lipe's Fine Furniture and Contemporary Decor Auctions.
Suzanne graduated from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with her JD and was a practicing attorney for 20 years before following her passion for buying and selling exquisite, handcrafted furniture and objets d'art.
Karla Schlueter: Curator, Special Collections
Karla is Curator of Special Collections responsible for sourcing luxury fashion, designer handbags, designer watches and fine estate jewelry. Karla has worked as a gemstone expert, interior designer and fashion stylist.
Beginning in 1998, she developed an extensive knowledge of gemstones, luxury jewelry, watches, gold and silver as an employee of a large national jewelry retailer. In 2010, she founded her own interior design company, focusing on both commercial and residential projects with a special emphasis on color theory, room planning and art installations. In 2018 she joined The Refind Room as an interior designer, sales expert and client coordinator.
Her lifelong knowledge and stylist experience with designer clothing, handbags, accessories, and modern couture provide the necessary background to curate Special Collections for Woodard Lipe Fine Art & Auction.
